2016 MTV Video Music Awards Nominations: Beyoncé Crushes The Competition With Career-Best Total

Beyoncé just came to slay the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

Breaking her own personal record for awards show nominations, the Lemonade chart-topper just garnered a whopping 11 nods ahead of one of music’s biggest nights. The rest of the nominations were announced today through a Facebook Live broadcast, and it looks like AdeleAriana Grandeand Drake fall right behind Queen Bey with eight, five and four nominations of their own, respectively. All of your favorite artists will go head to head on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. when the VMAs go live from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Kanye West joins a few of the aforementioned stars in the Video of the Year category for the controversial visuals accompanying “Famous,” as well as Best Male Video. In addition to the top spot, Beyoncé stakes her claim in Best Female Video, Best Collaboration, Best Pop Video and even more. Rihanna and Drake’s steamy “Work” video is also acknowledged in the Best Female and Best Collaboration listings.

They’re not the only stars hoping for a Moonman. Justin Bieber, Calvin Harris, Sia and The Weeknd are also up for highly-coveted accolades!
