Kunle Afolayan reveals how he borrowed N50m from Bank Of Industry

Nigerian Filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan revealed during the grand Lagos premiere of his new project ‘The CEO’ that contrary to news that he was given money for free to shoot his movie, it was funded by the N50 million loan he took from the Bank of Industry.

He however pleaded with pirates not to have interest in the movie as that is the only way he can refund the money borrowed.

According to him, “I borrowed N50 million from Bank of Industry to produce this film . Please do not pirate the film. I beg you o. I need to pay back the money. I think I have 13 months left. Please help o”.

It would be recalled that in April 2015, some movie pirates in Nigeria threatened to release Kunle Afolayan’s hit movie “0ctober 1.” The threats led to the controversial tweet by Kunle accusing Igbos of being responsible for piracy in Nigeria. And on Monday, April 13, 2015, the Filmmaker took to his Instagram page to alert fans that pirated copies of the movie are being sold on the streets of Lagos.

He also pleaded with fans not to patronise the sellers.

Estimated around 2 million dollars , The CEO movie is definitely worth viewing as its hits the cinema tomorrow, Friday July 15, 2016. The CEO features Hilda Dokubo, Kemi Lala Akindoju, Angelique Kidjo, Peter Kings, and Wole Ojo among others.
